Pat Testing

All electrical items should be tested for safety regularly to comply with health and safety legislation. The usual way that this is done is to PAT test each item. The acronym PAT means Portable Appliance Test, which is misleading, because anything that is plugged into the mains should be tested, even though some appliances are definitely not portable. Here are some suggestions of items you might have which need testing: Kettles, fridge, freezer, electrical tools, computers, leads and extensions, lights, machines, office machines, motors and so on. Please note that detachable leads are counted as a separate item as they are usually tested differently to the appliance to which they are attached.
We provide a comprehensive listing of all the items tested, and full details of any items that are failed. We provide standard pass or fail stickers.
Some companies offering PAT tests do not carefully test each item, they may not even test them at all, but they will still charge you. We carry out the tests conscientiously using approved test machines, and you will not be disappointed with our service.
